Join Brooke Brossard, MSN, RN, CCRN, for an engaging presentation: "Breaking the Charting Cycle: A Quality Improvement Initiative to Reduce Documentation Burden in the MICU." With over a decade of ICU experience and more than eight years serving in the Medical ICU at Texas Health Dallas Presbyterian, Brooke brings a wealth of frontline insight and leadership expertise to this critical topic.
As a long-time Charge Nurse and active member of multiple system-level councils, Brooke has been a vital voice connecting bedside realities to senior leadership. Her recent graduate work in Leadership and Management focused on one of the most pressing challenges facing healthcare professionals today—documentation burden and its link to clinician burnout.
In this session, Brooke will share the results of her quality improvement initiative aimed at streamlining documentation in the MICU, reducing redundancy, and improving both workflow and staff well-being. Attendees will gain practical strategies for initiating similar changes in their own units, along with a deeper understanding of how frontline-driven solutions can lead to meaningful system-level impact.
Speakers
I am a 10-year veteran ICU nurse. I have spent the last 8 1/2 years at Texas Health Dallas Presbyterian in the Medical ICU, where I have served as a Charge Nurse since 2018. Beyond the bedside, I am deeply engaged in multiple system-level councils, representing frontline nurses to senior leadership and helping shape organization-wide policies and order sets. I recently completed my MSN in Leadership and Management, where I focused my research on addressing a major work-related driver of burnout—an issue I am passionate about tackling.
